“I bought this a month ago and have tried to use it on numerous occasions. I have found the Vio to be incredibly unreliable. I may get a reading that seems remotely realistic about once every 5-8 times I use it. Typically it reads 0.00 2 or 3 times in a row. I have to restart the app and then only occasionally get a somewhat accurate reading. The quality and reliability is just not acceptable.”
“After 2 weeks and a new unit being sent out, I finally have a working system. I pretty much had to troubleshoot the problem on my own. I found that the BacTrack Vio App will not work with iOS 7.0.3 - you must be upgraded to at least 7.1.2. I will test it out on iOS 8.1.1 ASAP. Time will tell how long the unit lasts before it requires a calibration. Then it needs to be sent into BacTrack.
If you get (see photo) instead of an actual BAC reading you must update your iOS.”
“It helps you understand what your BAC level is and know which drinks give you a higher BAC. It is a very useful tool that my wife and I use when we are away from home.”
“I didnt think I would ever really need this, persay, but boy have I used it. I think that there are multiple instances that it is great to have this, but none more than to really learn how my body reacts to alcohol. I think that obviously driving is out of the question when drinking, but to know how intoxicated I am has been fascinating to learn about myself and what I can/cannot handle.”
