“I purchased both the Mobile Pro and C6 Keychain models, and both read consistently. Readings jive roughly with expectations from calculators based on consumption, weight, time, etc, and food ingested (which affects absorption). The Mobile works well through the phone App (iphone in my case). It's small and easy to use, and i like it, although right now I'm partial to the C6 due to its smaller size and standalone capability (no App needed). The calculation on "time to be sober" (i.e, 0% blood alcohol) is consistent with the human alcohol metabolizing rate (0.016%/hr), and with a bit of arithmetic, you can scale to the shorter time to get down to a non-zero level you may feel is safe for what you want to do. I think their quoted calibration cost is reasonable. I'm happy with it so far, and I hope that it proves durable.”
“This easy to use product is a Godsend. My son has an alcohol problem and the BACtrack phone application has kept him accountable to his wife and to me. Thanks so much BACtrack!!”
“Have used it for over a year as backup proof of sobriety for my supervised probationary period and to backup false alarms on my ignition interlock. I use everyday from the moment I get up till I go to bed at random intervals throughout the day to re-establish family trust and to document my sobriety seamlessly with the builtin health app on my iphone. Works without fail every time. Highly recommend the investment. I ordered i online from amazon”
“First and foremost I wanted to have some knowledge into how much a beer is actually impacting my 'legal' drunk level. I've been able to get a MUCH better knowledge of how intoxicated I am now that I've measured my BAC so many times at this point. I'm pretty accurate in guessing even before I take the measurement.
Additionally, I've opened the eyes of several of my friends in similar ways. This device saves lives, money, and everyone who drinks or has friends who drink should have one.”
“This device was great for a few months then rapidly began to show decreased levels. Eventually, it showed 0.00 after a few months no matter my true BAC. I wasn't about to pay for calibration after such a short period of Rome (maybe 6mo). This is a good product for short term use, but expect to pay for recalibration or replacement in short order. I hope their Pro line works better, especially if it is marketed to true Professionals.”
“***BUYER BEWARE***
This device will NOT work on several VERY common smartphones. It appears that Motorola devices aren't supported at all, despite the fact that the companion app is mentioned as being on the Google Play store and that there are results for a 'BACTrack' app that appears to work (hint: this app is actually for their friends/family tracking, not personal BAC measurement).
I purchased this because my state subsidized it and I wanted to be responsible when I was out. Instead, I'm out on shipping charges both ways.”
“I'm very disappointed in the draconian privacy policy. There is no reason you should want my geolocation info tied to BAC readings. How do I know that you won't report me to the police for drunk driving if I get in a taxi after a night at the bar. Your privacy policy specifically mentions this as something you may do. Please feel free to contact me about these concerns if you would like.”
“I purchased this breathalyzer less than a year ago and it worked at an acceptable level for a few months. Now it will read 0.00 one minute then 0.897 then .012 then .011 then back up to .756 four hours after having my last beer of which I only had three 12oz 4.5% ABV beers. I have a state issued breathalyzer in my car and it has failed me when the BAC Track device says I'm at 0.00. This has cost me over $1400 in fines and almost lost me my license for A YEAR. All because the technology they advertise as police grade is sub par. I recommend if you absolutely need to have accurate readings you buy one from a reputable Police Department Distributor.”
