“Truly, I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5.
Two things matter when buying a breathalyzer: reliability & validity. This device is incredibly reliable. Your BAC after 3 beers today (as shown on this device) will be the same virtually tomorrow, next week, a month from now, etc. (or until you need it recalibrated). If you have 3 beers on an empty stomach today, and 3 beers on a full stomach next time you drink, your BAC score will be higher for the time you drank on an empty stomach vs. the time you drank on a full stomach.
But is it "valid"? Mostly...I've heard people who try breathalyzers (not necessarily this one) say, "wow, I didn't realize that 'X' amount of drinks would get my BAC so high!" They're shocked that the number of drinks they thought made them under the legal limit (0.08 here in my home state of California) actually put them over! I have had the opposite experience with the "BAC Track Trace Pro". I feel WAY too uncomfortable to drive with the level of inebriation I feel when I blow a .08. Truthfully, I don't feel comfortable driving if I blow anything above a .04 (as measured on this device).
But, ultimately, once you try it out and adjust to what feels comfortable and safest for you (but at least below .08 please!), you've got a solid way to know whether you're truly "ok to drive".”
“I'm in the city with friends a lot And if I party a little too much I stop drinking but still hang out with everyone And when I think I'm ok to drive I take The Test to make sure.Simple...NO DWI for me!”
“I won't have a drink and get in a car without one. The piece of mind knowing your legal is priceless. This is a much nicer unit, more compact and elegant than the S80 which I had previously.”
“Having never used a breathalyzer, we have found this helpful in determining BAC and the speed at which we metabolize alcohol. Specifically, I was interested in seeing if there was a correlation between my BAC and how much I "felt" the affects of alcohol.”
