If you follow the directions the results are repeatable and accurate, at least as accurate as law enforcement type units (themselves which can be called into question for accuracy anyway, but whatever). After the 2 clean-off cycles I use it 2 or 3 more times and the results are always the same. I use this more as a novelty/gag accessory and not as the deciding factor on if I should drive or not.

Bought this a few weeks ago, really fun to use and hopefully accurate! Nice to know when you get in the car and you are good to drive or not!

I bought this a few months ago and it is very handy and accurate. At a recent tailgate, 4 of us compared the results to a Sheriff's field tester. It was equal or within .01 on each test.

I really like the portability and ease of use but I question the accuracy at times. Despite several attempts from a friend who was clearly intoxicated the readings were too low to be realistic.

The unit was $50 at my local pharmacy. It has a lifespan of 6-12 months before needing calibration (which costs $20). So personally, I think I would just spend another $50 after a year or so for a new one (I only use it on occasion). That's how affordable this product is for the usage I get out of it, combined with the price ratio. I use this product about once or twice a week to monitor myself before I drive; depending on if I am the designated driver. I'm 22 and a college student, and I like to be responsible while still enjoying a few drinks with my friends. The instructions specify that you're supposed to wait 20 minutes after your last drink to get an accurate reading, so I typically cease drinking about an hour before I take my reading (I'll also drink some water as well). That being said, the breathalyzer never lets me down. It gives me an accurate reading according to how I feel. If I still feel a bit "buzzed" it will give me a .07-.09 reading; therefore I wait about another 30-60 minutes, drink more water, and take another reading. The second reading usually indicates a .04-.06, and I feel much more sober and confident to drive. Of course depending on the situation. Overall I truly do trust this product (obviously within reason, always be careful and drink responsibly). When I do in fact feel "okay" to drive, the readings this product gives me make me feel more confident that I won't have any issue if I were to get pulled over. Therefore, I highly recommend buying one of these if you sincerely care not only about getting a DUI, but also about the safety and lives of not only yourself, but others as well. Drinking to the point where judgement is impaired is fine, but driving and risking the lives of other is completely NOT good. So buy the product if you have a tendency to drink and drive. You won't regret it and feel much more confident with a reading of .06 and under.

From the couple times I've used it, the results seem pretty consistent. Same number of drinks in the same time period gives approximately the same reading. I haven't used it extensively, but the readings it gives are usually about what I expected it to be.

Good value for the money. Reliably gives a BAC reading. Easy to keep in the glovebox of my car to check that I'm sober before driving.
