“I purchased this product approximately one year ago, after getting a DUI and having an ignition interlock device installed on my car. The device will not start unless my BAC is under 0.02, which is incredibly difficult to judge, especially if you only have one drink but do not know the strength of the drink OR if you have several drinks during a late night out and want to ensure that you are "good to go" in the morning. My friends often use this product while we are out to make sure they are safe to drive. I just wish I had thought a $129.99 breathalyzer was a good investment before my DUI. As a medical professional, having a DUI makes it incredibly difficult to find work and be taken seriously. This is truly a good purchase if you ever drink alcohol and drive a car. It would also make a great gift if you care about someone who drinks alcohol and drives a car. Trust me, a $129.99 breathalyzer and a couple extra cab fares are MUCH less expensive than my DUI ($500 fee to get my car out of impound, $5,000 lawyer fee, $500 court fees, $1,500 probation fees per year, $625 6-month alcohol education class, $1,300 ignition interlock device per year, $50 new drivers license fee with alcohol restriction noted, etc.) and being safe carries MUCH less stigma than being locked up.”
