“My husband is [supposedly] in recovery. In order to "prove himself" to me, he has been using this meter as evidence his success. Tonight, I found out that all you need to do is inhale instead of exhaling. The meter reads a perfect 0.00, accepting air in the completely wrong direction. Certainly not the air from the lungs of the user.
For 2 years, my husband has been using this as a testament to his honesty as well as a measure to show he was "safe" to drive. Turns out, the numbers don't matter. Tonight, his inhale reading was 0.00 while his exhale reading was .127.
This is a critical product flaw. Maybe label it "for amusement only," but certainly don't trust this product for a valid reading in the hands of someone with a drinking problem.”
“I bought this product as a reminder to not drink and drive, and it's done its job. I blow, I get a quick .00 result, and then go drive if I'm heading out for the night, taking the device with me as well. Would recommend!”
“A friend recently got a DWI. He did not think he had drank too much. I purchased this device to ensure the same thing does not happen to me.
So far it works well, and I have tested it at home when I know I do not have to drive.
I like it, it is helpful.”
“this device is not accurate to the third digit. Any test below .02 is not to be trusted. Their service department is a joke. I have sent two devices back with no result. I actually got ahold of one of their techs by telephone ,he informed me that their service dept. is hopelessly crushed and that was one year ago. Negative reviews are not made public”
“The device didn't come with a BAC LEVEL CHART . And it's hard to reset and REALLY have to blow hard, it then goes off ,I don't have enough air to make it register!”
