The screen is bleeding already. Poor craftsmanship

Even though I am chemically trained, I didn't understand the percentage option. Since I am now using only the BAC, I find it better than expected.

For what it costs a year to buy and calibrate it, It makes total sense!!! No more I'll just have one more drink. I can still enjoy being a responsible American without the fear of losing my Harley and $10,000 !!! It is also a great way to educate yourself. It was fun drinking a glass of wine at HOME and testing my BAC and then repeating it two more times...

Great product, but only for a short time like 2 years. If you don't use it often or don't calibrate it it will be just useless box. The experts saying that if the unit is 2 years or older the sensor deteriorate and could stop working. Even if it's brand new unit but sitting on the shelf it will have shorter life time. I bought 1 which was brand new but sitting on the shelf for 2 years and it failed with in 12 months. They gave me new one and that one failed after about 2 years. The fault was mine because I was not using it and I did not calibrate it. Calibration is required to make sure the unit is providing accurate output not so it works. They do not specify anywhere that unit will stop working if not calibrated or used. "I wanted to respond to your email to hopefully shed some light. I understand that the unit was not used that often so this news may come as a surprise to you. However, the life expectancy of the BACtrack S80 can vary greatly depending on usage, storage environments and sensor maintenance"

This seems the same to me as the Element model, which is good. I read somewhere that this one lasts longer before it needs to be re-calibrated. Don't get a cheap one- they're a pain, you have to wait ages if you even eat a potato chip. These fuel cell ones are much better. $80 & up = good $40 & below = bad
