“Been using 4 of these for the last 5 years and they are very accurate. We use them for Dances ballgames etc. We have compared them with Police Dept. breathalyzers and they register the same.”
“Ok, so I have a blow and go (smart start) ( and I dont drink anymore) in my car and i've tested this thing to the limits to see if it was really accurate. I have to blow zero in order to operate my vehicle. So i drank a ton and based on the metabolized algorithm of .01 per 40 min to be metabolized, I used the idea of basically 1 beer an hour metabolized after the point that I stopping drinking. ( ie: starting drinking at 8pm and last drink at midnight, midnight would be the starting point i would count down the amount of beers I drank and this would give me the amount of hoursI would need to metabolize the amount or alcohol drank) this thing was spot on in the amount of hours it took to blow zero. I even tested it 3 times to make sure it blew zero in order to start my car even up to the minute. I would really suggest this product even if you dont drink and eat and drink things that have alcohol in them, IE, mouth wash for sure!
this thing has saved my life on so many occasions. I have severe mouth issues with my teeth and have prescription toothpaste and mouthwash which have alcohol in them which will fail any breathalyzer and the S80 detects this. Hope this helps”
“I bought one similar to this a few years ago, and when they couldn't calibrate it, they gave me a great deal on a new one about a month ago. I have used it several times. It's very easy to use and accurate! More so than the older version.”
“I had an interlock on my car. the only time I drink is at night, at home and liquor.
My problem was that the interlock gave me a high BAC the next morning. That is why I decided to purchase the BacTrack, as I was getting a lot of cautions and a few lockouts and a lockout is over.06 BAC. This handy device has eliminated that issue.
Great tool to have if you drink.”
“Bought one of these a couple years ago, it worked well for several hundred uses. Eventually stopped registering, though, and when I sent it back for calibration I was told it was beyond repair. I wasn't diligent about regular maintenance, they say it needs calibration every 6 months or so. I think the real problem was using it right after drinking instead of waiting 20 minutes, seems like I burned out the sensor with excessively high readings. I just bought another, they gave me a discount, I plan to follow the directions a bit more closely this time: wait 20 mins before testing, and send back for cal after 6 months.”
