BACtrack Breathalyzer Calibration BACtrack S80 / Expedited Service Reviews

4.6 Rating 664 Reviews
The product is great when it is calibrated and working; however, included with the product is the need for an antiquated, expensive, and inefficient process for recalibration needs. If you wait too long, regardless of amount of use, you will need to purchase a new breathalyzer as it is unable to be recalibrated. Ridiculous when other options exist. $25 + shipping every 6 months regardless of amount of use in that time frame is excessive. Plus with time in transit, a person is left without their investment for ~1 month out of a year. Customer service is friendly and the product is great when working. The customer should be aware of what they are signing up for. I'm switching to a fuel cell breathalyzer I can recalibrate at home.

I have a couple so I can compare the accuracy. They are about a thousandth (.001)of each other. If you see any swing more than that send it in for calibration. Easy to use and fast.

Attended a long outdoor party, did I ever feel good that I could now drive home. I registered 0.03 and drove home confidently. Gave 2 units away as gifts to friends. No one should drive drunk.

It was time for calibration and the process was smooth and easy. I sent in our device and it was returned in a timely manner all set to go.

My BAC lasted just about 1 year before it started giving false readings. So, this is my first time trying the $25 re-calibration process and I didn't have any trouble.

I carry this in my vehicle and when I attend an event (like a tailgate party before a sporting event for example) I wait the instructed 20 minutes after drinking a beverage (non or alcoholic) and/or food and use the Bactrack...readings are consistent and I've often had to wait it out before driving probably saving me a career-ending DUI as a result. Total piece of mind. I follow the instructions verbatim and am about to send it back for the must-do recalibration.
