“This is my second device. I sent the first one in after approximately 2 years to have calibrated. Bactrack got back to me and said they could not calibrate but gave me a discount if I purchased a new one. If you are out and about and drinking, good idea to have one of these in your car and USE it prior to driving.”
“After almost 2 years and over 400 breath tests, my BACTrack Element was starting to return errant readings. Unit was calibrated and returned as advertised in about a week. Works like new again.”
“I bought my BAC s75 pro in December of 2014. I sent it in to be calibrated; at the time it was working just fine and really didn't need to be calibrated. But I sent it in anyway because I knew I was over a year. They told me it couldn't be calibrated, and sent the following message.
"We received and attempted to calibrate the breathalyzer that you recently sent in, but, unfortunately, we were unable to successfully calibrate your unit. As a courtesy, we have waived the $24.99 calibration fee from this service.
Because your breathalyzer was purchased in 2014, it is no longer covered under our 1-year warranty and does not qualify for replacement. However, we would be glad to offer you a $40 discount off of the purchase of any brand new Professional Series breathalyzer unit."
I have to admit, I was pretty angry that they couldn't calibrate this product. I have owned 3 different BAC products over the last 10 years. The cheapest one was $25 and worked for several years, and I realized when I got my new one that it was off a bit.
Lesson to be learned, either send it in every year faithfully, or buy cheap new one every year.
Why did I rate it 5 stars, because it really wasn't their fault and they didn't charge me, and offered a discount off of a new one.”
“Our S80 Pro is very accurate and reliable. We depend on it whenever we are out drinking. Having to send it in annually is inconvenience and an extra expense, but it is worth it to retain accuracy. We recently purchased a 2nd S80 so we wouldn't be without during recalibration. The service was as advertised with quick turnaround.
After our original unit was returned we tested both units together and the results were within .001 for both of us. We recommend the S80 to everyone who ever drinks Alcohol, for their safety as well as ours.”
