“For many years I had no idea of what my BAC was while out for the night. This device is an eye opener and a life saver for everyone! "Being informed is the first step to making the right choice" and this gets you there quickly!”
“Thank you for the BACtrack! I purchased this to understand better what it might feel like to be "drunk" though I am not that very often. I truly did not know what it felt like to be at a "0.08" or legally drunk level. I still dont because I have not ever gotten that high of a reading but now I know what level I am at after my one glass of wine with dinner. It is very easy to use and the integration of the phone app is key to its convenience. Thank you!”
“I'm a professional and maintaining a "clean" license is critical. BACtrack is compact, easily slips into my pocket, and is always around when I need it. It also has given me a much more realistic idea of how long it takes for my body to metabolize alcohol.”
“Does not work with Android Nougat 7.0, I understand that it's supposed to be compatible with 7.1, Had I known this I would have waited till my provider updated my Android before buying this, I'll update my review when this happens. Right now it's only an expensive paperweight.”
“Being an avid motorcycle rider in the land of beer & Harley's (aka Milwaukee, WI), I thought it would be a good idea to make certain I was sober prior to riding. That meant not drinking at all, or being very responsible about my drinking. With the help of my BACtracker mobile, I'm able to do the later. Not only am I staying safe while riding, making sure my BAC is at or as close to 0.00 as possible, but I'm constantly testing other rider friends of mine, to help raise their awareness and keep them safe.
I love the guess your BAC feature the app offers. At first I was all over the place, guessing too high or too low. After a handful of nights out, monitoring my BAC throughout the course of the night, I'm now able to accurately guess my BAC. I'm spot on, every time.
For those reading this review, who find themselves on the fence about purchasing: give it a go, you won't regret it. The BACmobile is just under $100, with a little online searching I was able to find a $20 off coupon code to enter at checkout. That brought the price down to just under $80. That's much more affordable than a DUI/OWI, which will run you into the thousands, plus stays on your record indefinitely, and in most states will cost you your driving privileges. This is definitely a sound investment.
The features are great. The app will show you how much battery life the breathalyzer has left, so you can be sure to charge it before leaving the house. I advice buying an extra pack of mouthpieces as the device does not work without them (the BACtracker Mobile that is). I've had mine for almost 2 months now, and so far so good. Every time I'm out to dinner/drinks with friends/family it gets pulled out and used (I invested in 50 extra mouthpieces), so everyone with me can give it a whirl. Bartender & DJ friends of mine love it and are looking into purchasing one of their own.
You have more to lose not owning a BACtracker than you do owning one. The choice is simple.
Oh, almost forgot, the manufacturer offers free recalibration after one year on their units as well. They claim the battery on the mobile unit will last about 1 year, as it is only able to be recharged a finite number of times. I feel it will last longer than that as I've had mine for nearly two months and it's still running strong on its first charge.”
“Bought this about a month ago and it came in handy allot. It worked good, but for some reason it doesn't connect to my phone anymore. So I wish there was a cord that would connect it to your phone just in case the Bluetooth feature doesn't work. That's the only reason it wasn't 5 starts, is because it lasted a month.”
