I have been making bread for years, but wanted to expand my repertoire and improve my skills. I thought I might watch all the lessons, but may only make some of the recipes, I don't usually have much white bread/flour, but I am so enjoying Richard's instruction that I am working through every lesson in order. His love of dough is very infectious and to be taught by someone so passionate about what they do is a real treat. I'm loving every minute.

I watch bertinet making and jiggling dough for sheer pleasure. My loaves have improved dramatically with his technique, but I watch him adoring the dough for sheer pleasure. Highly recommend.

Recently I decided to try my hand at making sourdough breads. My first few attempts were not dismal failures but not what I was hoping to achieve. So I decided to go back to basics and make sure that I understood the basics of bread making. Mr. Berneti is a master and this course is a systematic comprehensive stepwise approach to home back. So far, I have done the basic loaf, baguettes, and now ciabatta. I intend to continue the sequence as it leads up to sourdough. Mr. Berneti has a wealth of experience and can share it in a direct, hands-on approach. The videos match up well with the PDF text. My only suggestion would be to have the capability to add subtitles. Sometimes it's a little hard to understand him.

I learnt more from the first lesson than I have in 6 months of teaching myself from YouTube videos! I would wholeheartedly recommend this series to anyone wanting to learn to make bread - baking is about the dough!

I have now completed 4 of the BBC Maestro courses and this is by far the best course. The short introduction, all done in chapter one, was an excellent length. Leaving every other chapter full of content about bread making. The presenter's character, style and pace were very good and the natural approach made it a dream to follow. Lessons learnt in this course, too many to list, with multiple tips and knowledge gained in every chapter. A must-watch for and bread maker.
