Alan Moore's BBC Maestro Course "STORYTELLING" is brilliant. As a presenter Moore is humble, hilarious and hugely knowledgeable about the *art* of storytelling. The lessons cover everything from the practical aspects to the mythical elements of writing; Moore's easy confidence in his gift has him segueing from one medium to another, all the while keeping each lesson cohesive and on topic. Whether he's chatting about comics, novels or film, his intuitive understanding of storytelling as an imaginative and intellectual process inspired me to start looking at my writing differently. If you're passionate about storytelling as an ancient art, I highly recommend Alan Moore's BBC Maestro course STORYTELLING.

I'm learning things I had no inkling of. Not using cliches for sure but more, the sword, the edge, a reason to write a frame for the most powerful technology man can posess.

Story Telling by Alan Moore was a very good BBC Maestro course. Covering many aspects, from books, comics, films and other media where telling a story is the basis. Fully engaging and Alan's facial expressions were exceptional, particularly when reading excerpts to help get over a point or two. An intriguing character, full of knowledge. The ability to pull examples of what the chapter was covering was pure genius, with no effort at all. There were lessons to learn in every chapter and Alan's style I found to be enthusiastic, dynamic, and certainly not dull.

I loved this course. Felt like I was in an MFA program. Great compliment to the Jojo Moyes class as they cover similar and disparate thing.

I had never read any of Alan Moore's work, and I'm ashamed to now admit that I didn't even know who he was before I did this course (I think it happened because his genre is outside my scope of interest.) However, I had purchased full access to all Maestro courses and wished to immerse myself in as many different writing courses as I could, and thus I "met" Alan. WELL! I have been blown away by his teaching, I wish I'd heard of him years ago. He has taught me so much about the origins of language, the many different writing styles, and the ways to truly tap into creativity and approach this as a craft rather than "work". The sheer joy of being a writer. I'm a university graduate in another discipline, and I have studied at a professional level. I was therefore really appreciative of Alan's approach, he mentions other writers, and points to his influences, but leaves it to you to go and find out more if you want to. He basically saturates you with his knowledge and information that if you choose to, you could follow up on and grow into a full programme of graduate-level study. I love him now, and will always think of him as my tacher.

He is one of the best contemporary writers. I’ve seen many other writers courses from Neil Gaiman, Margaret Atwood, Dan brown, RL Stein… but Mr Moore is a very strong character, owning an amazing and creative brain. Hearing from him is just delightful
