“This course is both thorough and inspiring. As a songwriter whose aim is to be self-sufficient in music production, a course like this is invaluable. It’s broken down very well and is also easy to follow. Mark makes even the more daunting, complex aspects of engineering digestible and achievable. I find it riveting to see some of my favorite songs unpacked and getting the history behind how they were created. While we have a lot of shared musical inspiration, there’s clearly a lot of great music I have yet to discover—as Mark frequently references his influences. “For me it is a chance to see MR working in a completely different way to how I have worked in the past. I have been very concerned with capturing the live performance for the recording. Mark works with and uses any technical trick he can to make the recording work. I think he is concerned with what comes out of the speakers in the end rather than worrying about the ethics of tuning and quantization. If it works for the song do it. He is also a good producer and musician and a pleasure to watch in his work. I am having a great time!”
