How would you rate the course based on skills & knowledge learnt?
“The course is very detailed, and it discusses many of the most important rules for becoming a good writer, such as reading a lot; writing every day, come what may; and making sure your characters are solid. It also challenges some of the not-so-good advice writers often hear, such as the "write what you know" rule. Additionally, as it's focused primarily on popular fiction, the viewer can be confident that if they put Child's guidance into practice, they will one day be writing full-time. A very good course for sure; I'll be re-watching it as many times as it takes for me to absorb every piece of wisdom it contains.”

“i just loved this course. It is long but worth it. I love the way Lee goes into detail and actually reads the passages from his books which pertain to the ongoing lesson he is giving (at times a bit long, but ok). He has so much experience and knows how to build character, and explains how we can do so. If I get one take away it is "write what you feel, not what you know". It is now stuck in my brain, as i write! :) I think he is the only author I know so far who writes as he goes! no outline. I operate the same way. Malorie and Ken whom I am learning from go by outlines. I think without outline, we keep the magic alive and it follows much like the reader's experience: even we do not know what happens next! so exciting. Explore the unknown. I think it makes his fiction more credible, knowing this. For the characters become alive and take their own course. Whereas in an outline, we would be, well, playing God. Lee is sophisticated in his education and mind, and tells us that popular fiction is not devalued because it is not literary. Bravo! i had a snobbish upbriging, my father was into the classics and looked down on me when I bought an "airport book". I learn as much from them as literary fiction. Also Lee tells us about the editing and publishing process, which is very practical. So thank you Lee, I am grateful for this course, and will apply much of what I learned. Yes I would definitely recommend your course. No doubt. Lee, do smile now and then! it will make your blue eyes shine even more! ;)”

“An insightful and convivial 'fireside chat' with one of today's more prolific authors as he shares his ideas, attitudes and processes, as well as some of his thinking on the more technical aspects of writing.
He is generous with his knowledge, never patronising, and helps provide clarity with 'straight to the point' advice.
An excellent course.”

“Lee Child is a very engaging teacher. His course will make you a better writer - whether you want to write novels, short stories, screenplays or plays, as he teaches you the principles of storytelling. The course is broken down into bite sized lessons, giving you time to digest each lesson easily before moving on to the next. All in all, a very illuminating course to follow.”

Thank you for giving me this brilliant author and lecturer.”
