“A published author, I still consider myself to be “learning the craft”. Lee Child’s BBC Maestro writer’s course is invaluable – both in content and (very reasonable) cost. It’s the most useful, inspiring and fascinating course I have found in 10 years of writing.
Lee obviously doesn’t “need” to do this … But he takes the trouble to share his extraordinary talents, success, and fascinating insights and lessons in a mammoth 32 lesson course (longer than other courses in the series) to teach, inspire and celebrate thriller fiction writing. He dispels the myths of high-school, college/university and “how to” writing books, and presents a humble, yet focused and expert way to write your first novel. (I particularly enjoyed his take on literary fiction v popular fiction and his ideas and techniques on whether to plot or not). Even if you’re already published, you’d be remiss not to enjoy this course. It’s also a pleasure to “meet” the master himself - a humble, congenial fellow, who remains as down to earth, charming, passionate and authentic as he probably was before his success. Thank you, Lee Child, for inspiring me to keep going and start my fourth book.”
