I love Lee’s take on writing. He simplifies it and makes it a hell of a lot less scary.

Absolutely brilliant course, and invaluable to someone like me who is taking the first steps in writing a novel. I am currently about 10 lessons into the course and have learnt such a lot already. Lee Childs is an excellent tutor, explaining his tips and techniques clearly and eloquently, using very good examples and metaphors to get his points across. Would thoroughly recommend!

This class was great! There were a lot of little golden nuggets in there that helped me with the mindset and structure to write my book.

I found it useful in being 'good to think with' as I plan a work that is non-fiction and will likely be unpopular. The course has sign-posted areas where danger exists of slipping into what Kurt Vonnegut called the 'man in a hole' structure which works against achieving realism. Otherwise, I find that if hoping to write a series, the course would be useful but lacks a few essentials for anyone wishing to start a writing business such as how to convince a publisher your book is better than the other ten thousand submitted last week, and as one does planning a business, how to conduct market research.

This was a fantastic course. Mr. Child removed some of the myths around plotting, character building etc. Even though this was focused on popular fiction I found it equally valid and useful for literary fiction.
