“First of all: It was a great pleasure to spend these hours with Ken Follett and it was highly interesting to me.
However, despite being a valuable insight in how he is writing and developing his novels, it was a lot of "what to do" and only very little "how to do it".
I think it would have helped me (and probably many other people taking this "course" if Ken Follett shared more insights of his notebooks, his first drafts and how he actually constructs a novel.
So, I enjoyed this very much - but it was no course on Writing Bestselling Fiction, rather getting a lot of instructions of what to do (and what to do not) but not on how to do this.
Currently I am going through a Domestika course of Shaunta Grimes and she gives much more "hands on" instructions on how to write fiction.”

“I like the way he describes the various steps that he goes through to create a novel. I may never actually write a novel, but this course has helped me to better understand the overall process and some of the technical aspects that I didn't know existed.”

“How clever and knowledgeable Ken Follett is! I’ve learned so much from his lessons. His pragmatism and no-nonsense approach to writing are truly inspiring. I still have a few lessons left to complete, but, like with a good book, part of me doesn’t want it to end.
As always, the BBC’s work is close to perfection. The camera work, sound, and lighting are all top-notch.
This might be the best treat I’ve given myself this year!”
