“I found the course a little basic. That’s not to say it isn’t good for some people. I suppose because I have been acting for quite a long time it wasn’t so suitable”

“I'm loving it! Brian Cox is clearly very passionate about his craft and the course is very informative, insightful and inspiring. You learn and get a lot of useful tips, especially if you actively take part in the course and study and do the exercises in the pdf workbook in addition to watching the videos.”
“Review of Acting short course by Brian Cox.
Very enjoyable as a refresher course, was part of a drama group years ago. I liked the range and diversity of the lessons. Lessons that stood out: Learning from the greats, develop your character, two scripts Hamlet and Miss Julie. Thank you Brian. Exhilarating, inspiring and motivating. Am already thinking about signing up for another BBC Maestro course.

“The knowledge is invaluable. Brian breaks everything down so the information is easily understood. I learnt so much from the workshops and the course in general. I would highly recommend!”

“As an ever growing ever learning actor/performer I loved this course. At times introductory and at times in-depth- this moved very well between core foundations and advanced technique.
Would recommend to everybody who wants to learn this craft.”

“I’ve never performed, and my interest in the acting course with Brian Cox was curiosity. I appreciate that the course is very much a starting point for those who have a fascination with the craft, and having the opportunity to learn, listen, and gain insight from a veteran actor such as Brian Cox was exhilarating.
Being a novice, I found the course engaging as it illustrates technique and variation in a number of different types of lessons along with acting workshops, but the most essential element is being committed to doing the work.
Is it my future career? I don’t think so, but sharing in the process has been a delightful experience.”

“I loved hearing his advice and his take on things and seeing him work with actors on a scene, but I was hoping he would go beyond the "what" and more into the "how" of acting. For example, he mentioned the importance of the 7 Stanislavsky questions, and I expected to see an example - e.g. take a scene (or one of the three that he worked through with the actors) and answer those questions. Or he mentioned the importance of voice work - how does one practice tone? How does one find the subtext, how does one find the truth in a scene?”
