The Science of Eating Well with Professor Tim Spector It is my favourite course for the year 2024 and it the very reason I subscribed to the BBC MAESTRO: Excellent brief and to the point content I studied some Chemistry and Biology and I understand fully that there is no way a capsule, tablet or spray can provide me with Vitamin D I come from a country whereby it Is summer12months a year. But now, I am living in the Republic of Ireland and there is not enough sunshine February to May this year 2024 was a very ugly time in Ireland, I experienced not only the (SAD;) Seasonal affective disorder but I came down with flue and for a very long time. I wish the professor tries to throw some light on how I can get some vitamin D in a land which does not get enough sunshine. Thanks a million. Question Can walking 45 minutes to 2 hours five days out of seven coupled with the application of the 80;20 rule on the 5 tips you have given for keeping a health gut-microbiome assist me in getting some Vitamin D?

Very helpful in understanding how food choices affect our gut health, and how vitally important our gut health is. Diversity of plants, fermented foods, time restricted eating, eating brightly colored or bitter plants, and reasons why you want to cut out ultra processed foods all explained in easy to understand terms by Professor Spector. I learned so much, and recommend this for anyone interested in improving their health long-term.

Firstly its expensive for what it turned out to be and I would not do it again as most of that content I have seen in other places by Tim. That said the content is interesting but was left wanting him to go deeper and wider on the various subjects. I would not recommed and you can find much of this on say the Zoe Health Study app and podcasts and content could go deeper and indeed wider.

it is a good course but very slow and not a course, more just information. I learned most of this from watching Tim on Dairy of a CEO but I did find it got going after about the 1st 7. I am interested in nutrition and have a health background so I think this 'course' is better aimed at people that don't know anything.

Very passionate speaker - but he sometimes repeats himself unnecessarily which detracts from the course material a5 times.

The course acts as a reinforcer for those of us who have previously read Tim Spector's books, listened to Zoe podcasts or joined the Zoe programme. It's all good commonsense and eminently do-able. With my science educator hat on I'd have liked to see a more imaginative approach to presenting. It felt a little chalk and talk, a little Future Learn - if you know those courses. (Shots of face on talking head alternated with side view talking head.) Stand up, walk around Tim, and get the camera to do some cutaways to get the viewer to focus down. More detail, more science and perhaps just a touch of razzamataz.

Hey Mandy, Thanks for your review. We value every BBC Maestro customer, and really value your feedback. All courses have detailed course notes to accompany them, which a lot of learners find really useful when watching a course, especially when completing the course exercises. I hope these give you a little more of what you're after in the course! I hope this helps, but feel free to contact our amazing customer service team at support@bbcmaestro.com if you would like more support! Best, Rebecca

It was good. I am already on the Zoe programme so have heard Tim speak a million times. But he laid everything out clearly for beginners. Plus gave a clear blueprint for what to eat.
