I do have enjoyed the course and I am sure it will be very useful for my writing. However I do have an objection. This is may second course from BBC Maestro. I am spanish but I do not have problems in understanding and espeaking in english but I write in spanish as Isabel Allende. And I have had the feeling that this course aims only to english writers and sometimes I've felt left out. I didn't felt that way with the Ken Follet course. Sorry but you should check this on your videos. Once said this, I have really enjoyed this course. Thank you.

This is a wonderful course and I thoroughly enjoyed Isabele Allende's topics and the examples she gives to help aspiring writers fulfill their potential. I only have one criticism. The last lesson on publishing seems very out of date. There is a world of difference between Self-Publishing and Vanity Publishing. She is correct in saying that Vanity Publishing, where the author pays to have their work in print, is a scam and not a route to go down. However, technology and desk top publishing programmes allow many talented writers to self-publish their work. Tnere are many examples of very successful authors that hire the services of readers, professional editors, book designers and marketeers to do everything that a publishing house would do - and in many cases - better. The best selling British author, Mark Dawson is one example. The self-published author author does not need to wait for a publishing house or luck to get their work into a reader's hands or onto the shelves of a bookshop or library. I know because I have done this myself. Self-publishing is no longer looked down on by the book industry because so many talented new writers have entered the market this way and frankly readers don't care one way or the other. If the writing and the story are good, why would you? Successful self-published authors are often noticed by a traditional publishing house and offered book deals as they have already proved themselves. I really feel this should have been mentioned.
