I am half way through the course and it has given me so many ideas of what to do and what not to do. It has been very inspirational learning from a very talented author.”

“I truly appreciated Julia's course which touched on so many aspects of writing children't picture books. I am a self-published author of my first picture book and her advice on technique really shed light for me. Of course, Julia is a renowned author and perhaps, if she adds to this course, she might touch upon self publishing. Being in the states, it seems that traditional publishing is much more difficult unless you already have an established name, so I've discovered many authors self publish. In summary, I loved this course and learned many things that I will incorporate into my stories. Thank you, Julia, and thank you BBC Maestro!”

I'd say it's more on a interview, with her sharing her books and favourite stories rather then what i was expecting of a 'maestro' course.
I feel like the teachings and excercises couldve been condensed into a quarter of the time.”

“Of the three courses I have followed this has really grabbed me. Julia's teaching style is very conversational and accessible but in no way dumbed down. I am half way through the course and have developed a skeleton picture book which I am refining as I go along. I am very excited about it.”
