“I read a lot of reviews before deciding on this one. Works perfect for us. We max it out with a 120" screen and the unit about 13 feet away. Daytime is fine with blinds down. But at night, it is amazing. Sound is pretty good as well and we only hook up external speakers when using it outside with more people.
If you are not positioning it low or high--we have it 4.5 feet high--you have to prop up rear legs as they do not extend far enough to aim it towards the screen. (Instructions warn not to tilt past a particular angle, which we are doing slightly, so hoping the fan does not go out or something.)
And the fan noise is not bad. We have it just above our heads and 18 inches behind us and we don't think about it.
We've never had 4K, so we don't mind the 1080P. Action films and sports look great, and we certainly saved a lot of money being satisfied with this model.
Use the filmmaker mode for everything you watch--the picture is brighter and the sound better than HDR.”
“This projector is perfect for what we need, night time movies in our bedroom. We hung from our vaulted ceiling and were able to get a pretty even projection on a 100” drop down screen. The picture is clear as long as the ambient light is low. The sound is surprisingly good. We keep at level 3-5, but it can get much louder.”
