“If your looking for the highest quality lightweight IIIa plate, look no further. As a firearms instructor I wanted a set of lightweight plates for the range. I did a lot of research and compared a number of different brands. I believe all major brands will work as advertised, but only DFNDR has the only IIIa plate that comes in different sizes and cuts. I selected a large (10.25x13.25) with a SAPI cut. The others only offer a 10x12 Shooters cut which did not fill out my plate carrier and I wanted the extra coverage. It is slightly thicker than the competition and has a spongy material bonded the back of the UHMWPE (which I like) and doesn’t add any a significant weight (the large SAPIis still only 1.1 lbs pet plate). It is the only lightweight plate that Is double cut and the finish far exceeds the competitors. If you are looking for the best lightweight IIIa plates, buy DFNDR..”
