“The video is great. That's about it. the battery life is extremely poor. Fully charged, it lasts less than two 1.5-hour rides. this is less than the average century. it should last at least 5-6 hours. In all that - it's heavy. There is no provision for an external battery pack. Surely there are better options out there.”
“In general, it is an improvement over the previous model I got almost 5 years ago which finally died. Easier mounting hardware, safety tether is good idea, many more controls via the app, easier to access buttons, etc.
The only problem I'm having is a power issue which has recurred twice. However, your Tech Supoort guys have been great. When I was unable to send it back (postal issues), they gave me detailed resetting instructions, which, while tedious, so far are working.
Some improvements it needs:
- You need to be able to use it while plugged in on the bike without the door being left open to expose it to the elements. E-bikes are carrying Huge batteries that can power it as long as needed. On its own, with light on, it doesn't last over 4 hours.
- A 32G card fills up long before my rides are over and overwrites stuff I'd like to view later. I've put a 256G card in and it seems to work fine but I'm told it's not supported.
- the case needs to be white so it does not get so hot riding in the sun all day.”
“Records video in a quality that makes it possible to see vehicle registration plates. I have found that the Cycliq Plus software does not work as expected and it is easier to use alternative editing software having drag and dropped the video file from the memory card.
In addition, the silicone case is not much use, and could have a much better design, although it is a 100% better than the case cobbled together for the Fly 6 Gen 3.”
