“Very complex user interface design. Could be much simpler, for the limited things this device does. VERY heavy, but then, it has the long battery life. My first use, a six-hour ride, worked, I think. The companion app is poor: Bluetooth pairing won't work. So far I can't see any footage. The rear lights (low Pulse option used) seemed to alert passing motorists well, subjectively, as I watched in my helmet mirror. The attachment straps need to have "Cycliq" or "Fly6" (something) written on them, because I have a box full of lights and straps that look similar. The tether strap is a good idea. The documentation could be better. It does not explain what the various mounts and pads are, as in, why there are several. The rubber cushions are easily lost, and will need to be glued to the clamp. A choice of mounting options would be better, i.e. what is your seatpost is not free or does not have a clear view backwards? A rear rack mount would be useful, even if it's an option at extra cost. A big drawback long-term is only revealed after purchase: "The battery life will degrade over time with repeated chargings." Okay, then make the battery replacable, even if it has to be done by Cycliq.”
“The camera is very useful. Its capability to capture plate numbers in the dark while in motion and recording should be improved. I had a dangerous closeby which I could not report to the police as both my rear and front cameras failed to capture the vehicle's plate number in the dark with bike lights on.”
“I have a Fly6 Gen 3 which is great apart from the short 3hr battery life. I bought the Pro which is a step up from the Gen 3 with the longer battery life, I also like the OLED screen which shows the battery life and other useful information, the best feature is being able to view footage using the app rather than taking the SD card out. Great camera with outstanding picture quality it ain't cheap but worth the expense in my opinion.”
“I had to get a friend to fix on my bike as I have a toppeak back pack, he welded a piece of metal tubing so the camera could be attached. I have not caught any dangerous footage yet, I have the fly12 on front and fly 6 on rear. They have made me feel safer but I have noticed the flashing lights really attract motorists attention.”
