“Video quality is second to none and image stabilisation is excellent, although low light performance could be better (dusk/dawn where it couldn;t record number plates and the back of cars became one solid pixelated colour). Sensor needs better dynamic range for this reason. The menu is OK, but could be more intuitive and pairing to see video with the app is problematic with the wifi on the camera itself being intermittent and only available when you first switch on - it often takes 3-4 goes to pair.”
“First time holding it in my hands it does feel solid. Batt was long lasting given my ride was from 5am to noon with some breaks in between. Off during the breaks. Left with 2 bars. Not sure about how bright the lights are, but if the blink is customizable via app would be great!”
“Fly6 Pro is good ...records good clear video ...the plastic mounts need out fitting with aluminium ...maybe delete a light and install a radar... Plus need handlebar control to start stop n save footage in close calls near miss ...or install update that can pair with Fly12 Sport .. so one push of Fly12 buttons also work Fly6”
“I feel the software and hardware are much improved compared with my Fly6 CE. I was surprised that the 60fps option with say 1080 was not available as I found with the Fly 6 CE that when cars were passing very quickly on the opposite side of the road the car number plate would be missed at 30fps.”
“The Fly6 pro, is a pretty substantial package, especially compared to the fly 6. You do gain a lot of extra battery life, especially when using higher resolution and intensity settings for the light. The mounting system is very secure, to the point of being stiff to put on and take off. Wi-Fi transfer of files and general use with the app much easier than with the fly 6, or even the fly 12 sport. If all these features could be in a smaller lighter package, say 75% of current size/weight, would be pretty much perfect for the job.”
“The Fly6 Pro replaces my second-generation Fly6, which lacked image stabilization and had a much lower resolution. The Fly6 Pro footage is much sharper and more stable in all lighting conditions. If the need arises, it will be more usable with insurance companies and in court than in my previous version. While Garmin and others have tried to introduce challengers, the Cycliq software and the Fly6 Pro core functionality and image quality make it the best choice for rear-facing bike dashcams.”
“Vastly superior to my previous gen 3 rear camera. Much longer run time, brighter light and warning beep if charging flap is not closed. Highly recommended/”
“Great step up from previous iterations of the Fly 6 range. I have been able to complete 2 x 7 hour rides running the camera and light in the organic mode in the last week. Having that capacity is very helpful albeit the device itself is, inevitibly, quite chunky (but also sturdy!).
Also noting the excellent after sales service from Cycliq. The first camera to arrive had a fault. Cycliq replaced this quickly and without fuss under warranty.”
