“This is the best backpack I've ever owned! I work in education which requires a professional look with the ruggedness to survive a school environment. I love that minimal look, the fact that my water bottle isn't hanging out the side of it, and the color. I recently took it to a out-of-state conference and it was a dream in the airport (the luggage strap!) and at every conference session. The shoulder straps are comfortable and I love that there are no dangling straps. So great!”
“The Daw Owl backback is functional and cool-looking. Great size for carrying laptop and thermos with space for a meal and other stuff you just need to take with you. The finer points of the design make it look clean and stylish - no dangling should straps, no visible zippers across the back, no outside pouches with waterbottles junk in them, top handle closes together and behaves. And this bag holds its shape rather than collapsing like those crazy arm things outside a used car dealer.
I got this as a gift and have used it on a month-long international trip, weekend trade conference and in my weekly train commute to the office. I had used a Timbuk2 messenger bag that I loved, but needed to replace. It wasn't quite big enough for me to carry my coffee and lunch in, and I've reached that age where a shoulder bag is uncomfortable. The Day Owl bag's design solved those problems for me.
The water bottle/thermos pocket is great. I can fit a can of seltzer and my coffee thermos in it at the same time. The opposite pocket is fine, but I don't find it super useful. The top easy-access pocket is really handy though.
The canvas does get a little bit scuffed, but it looks cool. I sprayed mine with Scotch Guard and it's preserved it really well. Definitely recommend this backpack. Nicely done.”
