“Truly obsessed with my new backpack. I had a vacation planned right after it arrived so I used it as my carry-on. It comfortably held my work laptop (15 inch MacBook pro) and literally everything else I needed. The pockets are thoughtful and well designed. The material and color (green) are beautiful. Especially love the water bottle pocket and the small one on the top for my mini wallet. Will buy from Day Owl again!”
“I love my Day Owl backpack for many reasons.
- Classic look with understated branding (no big logos or brandnames)
- the main zipper compartment opens flat for easy access and packing
- I LOVE that the water bottle pocket zips closed, when I bend over to pick something up, my water bottle doesn't fall out! (This used to happen all the time with previous backpacks)
The only thing I would change is that I wish there was a larger size, I could use it as a weekender bag.”
“I love my new backpack! It is the perfect size for a long day on my college campus, and the pockets make it very functional. I love the green color, it is fun and bright but not over the top. The fabric is great, sturdy but soft. You get what you pay for - not the cheapest backpack out there, but it is very high quality and I know it will last many years.”
“I basically don't leave my apartment without my Day Owl bag now. I love it! The little pocket up top has been a total game changer- I'm no longer digging around my whole backpack for my phone or my keys. But there are just a few things I'd like to note that made me knock off one star, and that I hope are helpful for other potential buyers:
- I wish the straps were a bit longer. I am plus-sized (US Women's 22/24), and I had to extend the straps all the way to the end. If I were any bigger I don't think the backpack would sit comfortably on my back. My boyfriend, who is 6'3" and thin, has a hard time comfortably putting on the backpack with his long arms. Adding a few inches to the straps would make this backpack more widely accessible for more body shapes.
- I wish the main cavity was just a tiiiny bit bigger. I have the original "The Backpack" and I use it to commute to-and-from work and when I'm running errands. I often find it is just a little bit too small for fitting everything I need comfortably in one place-- especially when going to work, where I often bring a 20oz water bottle, lunch, and gym shoes/clothes (on top of the typical wallet, sunglasses, etc). I usually need to bring an extra tote with me, which is a bummer.
- I wish it were more water resistant, or that it at least wasn't advertised as such. I've never had a waxed canvas product before, but I realized upon receiving it that it is not quite waterproof enough for commuting in a big city in the rain. Even when I'm using an umbrella, I've noticed that sometimes the items inside the backpack get wet.”
