I had a mini & a large backpack already, so I wanted more of a city backpack. I compared options for a long time, and this is the one I settled on. Now it's my favourite. I especially love the bottle pocket and the mini top pocket, great design.

Love this bag. I bike commute to work and can be pretty rough with my bags. My slim holds my laptop, charger, notebook, bike lock, and my water bottle. It holds up to being tied down to my bike basket with a bungee cord without getting scuffed cup. The stitching is very solid, too, with no tears or rips after four months of intense use.

I had been using a relatively-flimsy backpack I bought cheaply from Muji for nearly ten years. It's served me well and traveled worldwide, but it has started falling apart, even with my rough sewing repairs. So, it was time to look for a replacement. Anything I considered had to be: 1) Neck-, shoulder-, & back-friendly. As time marches on, I have accrued more injuries and need to take better care of these body parts. 2) Light, sleek, and compact. The Muji backpack got me through so much, it carried a lot of items and weight over many endeavors, but I was stuffing all kinds of things into it that I ended up not needing most days and forgetting about it. This was leading to severe physical strain, so I wanted a bag that would force me to be strategic & economical without being austere while still fulfilling my daily needs. 3) Eco-friendly, or at least from a reputable company with eco-driven strategy & goals. For example, made out of recycled or sustainably sourced materials and/or comes with the opportunity to recycle the backpack itself at the end of its lifecycle. 4) Equipped with inobtrusive, intuitive features I would actually use/need, but not so many that they just gathered dust/pencil lead chips at the bottom of some pocket. 5) Look great. My poor Muji bag was shredded and tattered to the point of strangers making comments. It was time to upgrade to something that looked professional yet cool and matched the working adult I've become instead of the poor college grad I used to be. 6) Not break the bank. I wanted to invest in quality, but I'm not too far off from my underpaid teaching assistant days, so I still needed to be financially astute in my choice. 7) Long lasting, durable. I'm on the go. I work in the field/out in the community. I need a backpack that can keep up with me and take a beating while keeping everything inside it safe & dry. After extensive research, comparing multiple companies, products, and reviews, Day Owl won far and away. And now that it's been a few weeks, I can confidently say I love my Slim Backpack. I don't mentally prepare for pain or injury each time I have to put it on; I use all of the practical, sleek features it has every day; it's made out of recycled plastic, so it's hardwearing in addition to planet-friendly; it looks fantastic, etc. I've gotten so many compliments and questions about where I got it from. I've already shared the link with a few coworkers who have asked. So overall, I highly recommend this backpack. Especially if what you need to carry daily (in my case, a 13" laptop, a kindle, cables, documents, a pen bag, AirPods, and a few snacks) can be streamlined for simplicity and efficiency. If you need something larger, I bet the regular backpack is just as great.

I bought the slim design and it is just the compact, tough, well-designed backpack I was hoping for. All the zips have rain flaps, which is occasionally important. The water bottle compartment will only hold a small bottle, but having it inside rather than outside the pack is a big plus. The other feature I particularly like is the snap-close handle at the top of the bag. I added a carabiner in the main compartment to hold keys. Overall, very satisfied and I will recommend it to friends.

the pocket for the water bottle on the side gets in the way of most of the storage inside the backpack itself. Be careful picking out your color too bc they're pretty strict with exchanges if you dont like how it looks in real life and customer service is pretty unhelpful. It was my first time shopping with this brand I thought it would be a more enjoyable experience, but sadly it hasnt been

Great construction and quality for a great relief effort! These replaced very expensive Lululemon and Patagonia backpacks and my 15 and 17 year old girls love them.
