Failure to comply with this regulation could result in a fine. A 2-penalty unit infringement notice will result in a fine of approximately $363 and a court-applied penalty for a breach of these regulations can be up to 15 penalty units ($2726 approx.).
Animal Welfare Victoria describes ‘household’ fruit-trees, vegetable gardens, or other fruiting plants as:
grown at residential premises in an urban or suburban area; or
if grown at residential premises in a semi-rural or rural area, grown primarily for personal use (even if some excess produce is shared or sold).
