Are mice a big problem in your area?
Our new Closure Cap for Dine a Chook Chicken Feeders allows you to close off the feeder at night time to stop mice in their tracks. Although the Dine a Chook Feeder helps to deter rodents by keeping feed off the floor, if rodents have found your coop already they will try anything to get the feed. Our super new Closure Cap locks down your feeder.
Benefits of the Dine a Chook Closure Cap:

Clips neatly into the opening of the feeder
Can be hung on the front of the feeder when not in use
Effectively restricts access to the feeder opening

Dealing with rodents in the Chicken Coop
If you have rodents in your chicken coop, no Feeder is going to solve the problem alone. The only way to eliminate rats or mice in the chicken coop is with a baiting or trapping program. But a Waste Reducing Dine a Chook Feeder with a Closure Cap can form part of a coop management program to reduce problems with rats and mice.
The Dine a Chook Difference
We had chickens long before we started Dine a Chook, and we still do! We understand the problems that backyard chicken keepers face and our goal is to provide solutions.
That is why Dine a Chook Chicken Feeders and Drinkers stand out from the competition: Our products have been extensively tested in Australian backyards, including our own! Our patented innovations and unique design features really work to make backyard chicken keeping easier.
We know how important good coop management is. A clean, dry coop, and uncontaminated feed and water, are essential for poultry health. Our Feeders reduce waste, keeping feed dry and off the floor. And our Waterers keep water clean and prevent spillage.
Dine a Chook Feeders and Drinkers are made in Australia, supporting Aussie jobs. And we use genuine Lubing Drinker Outlets from Germany because they are the best for poultry. Our products are built to last and come with an exclusive guarantee. Tested in the harsh Australian climate, don’t run over them with a tractor and we bet you won’t need to buy another Feeder or Drinker again!
As a family business, the most important thing to us is our customers. Need help with an order? Want chicken keeping advice? If you have a question about your flock, give us a call on 1800 103 326 during Queensland business hours.

We have minimised food loss from wild birds and mice as we can close the pipes at night and the chooks aren’t scratching the food everywhere for wild birds to eat. As we no longer encourage mice from the chook feed wastage I’ve notice my veggie garden being left alone more too.

The Closure Caps have made what used to be a 30-minute chore (taking 6 chicken feeders out of the coops at night, and returning them in the morning) into a 5-minute task! Living in the High Desert of New Mexico, we have a significant challenge with night-raiding rodents, and the snug fit of the caps has made it possible to leave the feeders in the coops overnight. I read some comments that the caps didn't fit tightly in the openings - I noticed that at first, as well, then realized I was installing them backward. As soon as I turned them around, they fit perfectly. Thanks for a brilliant solution to a key issue in our chicken yard!
