Dine a Chook Gourmet Greens for Chickens and Poultry - The perfect Forage solution.
IMPORTANT: This item cannot be shipped to TAS or WA
Foraging plays a vital role in Chicken's health, helping their behaviours and also their egg production. Use this seed mix to produce a year-round gourmet selection of nutritious greens for your chickens and other poultry.
Grow the forage greens in the chicken run or plant in the garden for easy-to-harvest treats! The Dine, a Chook Salad Bar, can also be grown in pots or trays and placed in the chook pen as needed. Boost the nutrition and overall health of your backyard chickens with the Gourmet Greens forage mixture, from Dine a Chook.
Typical contents:
Barrel medic, bok choy, buckwheat, chicory, clover, cocksfoot, linseed, lucerne, millet, forage plantain, silverbeet, subclover and sunflower.
Sowing advice
- Temperate areas: March-May or August-October
- Sub-tropics: August-September or May-July
- Tropics: April-August
Sow in seedling trays (1-2g/tray) or broadcast directly onto prepared soil in the forage area (2-3 g/1 m2). Protection should be provided until plants are well-established, and after grazing to allow plants to re-shoot.
Store in a cool, dry location. Best sown before September 2019.
