“It's light and flexible. This handle stands up to all sorts of abuse. Believe me. The one it replaces was left in an attic after removing a victim under heavy fire conditions. The grip kit kept the handle together. And even as abused as it was you could still swing and use it if needed because of FMT's core design.
The replacement process wasn't bad. A bit of time drilling out the old plug and some cleanup. The replacement handle went in nice and snug. FMT's included supplies keep new epoxy where it's supposed to go. (A coworker didn't have that with his brand... and watched all the epoxy run out.) Just clamp the tool upright with the head level when filling. Leave it there until it cures. The slow cure time is great to let air from mixing bubble out for a good solid epoxy seal. It may look a little overfilled at first. When bubbles come up while curing it will contract to level. You can always sand off the extra later if you want.”
