“The instructions are worse than IKEA. The claim that a single human can put this together with a screwdriver is just false—this took two adults and a power drill 3 hours to assemble. The instructions need updating, they call out the use of black screws when only silver screws are provided, they call out specific use of boards labeled ‘middle’ that are not at all labeled, and many boards had pre-drilled holes that were not needed, causing further confusion. We had to remove and re-drill some pieces to fit the headboard mount correctly. This ruined the purchase experience for me and for the price, I’d go for an easier assembly option like Thuma in the future.”

“I was mostly disappointed with how the bed turned out. It claimed Japanese Joinery style, yet I had to assemble it with several dozen screws. There were only two Japanese Joinery parts (the bed rails). The wood was stained nicely. After assembly, laying or sitting on the bed would ultimately result in too much noise. The headboard was also nice, but the metal rails that are used to hold the headboard pieces have sharp poking corners that easily scratch or damage the wall. I paid roughly ~$17 for floor protection on the bed frame, and thought it would be more substantial than what I received (4-6 felt sticky dots that I applied myself). I already had felt dots that I could have applied myself if that's what it was. Unfortunately with the way online ordering is, sending back something of this size simply isn't worth it so I just have to accept what I've received as the bed frame I'll use over the next several years. I will be eager to replace it with something better one day.”

They feature Japanese joinery style but its not claimed to only include this type of joinery. This will vary by design.
