“These look like beautiful shoes- I have been eyeing them now for awhile. So when I finally got them I really wanted to keep them. Now I am not sure.
I can't say whether they run small or big or what because I have now bought three pairs of the Weejuns Penny Loafers is sizes 2/35, 2.5/35.5, and 3/36. I used the Weejun's sizing device the first time- but in the end I thought the shoes were just too short in length, too tight. I used the measurements chart the second time but my foot was slipping out when I walked. So I thought the third time would be the charm. But I swear that there seems to be no difference between the 35 and the 35.5. My toes seem to come up to the exact same place. In fact- I had more trouble getting one of my feet into the shoe (but I think thats more about the tightness of the leather). I'm not sure what to do now- whether to risk keeping these shoes and hoping they fit well when the the leather stretches but I am worried the toe area is just not roomy enough. For me, these not cheap shoes so its not as though I'll be okay with it if they don't work out.
Customer service is lacking. They haven't been helpful and they haven't encouraged developing an ongoing relationship with the customer, something that is usually reflective of a good company. First time I got a response- but wasn't given an answer just directed back to the website for what I had already read. Second time I got no response at all. I 've paid the shipping back and forth on these shoes (and the discount offer I was given first, encouraging me to make my first purchase, was not applied when I reordered the shoe, something that really disappointed me given that I was essentially exchanging the shoes). Now that I feel I have ended up with the shoe I got the first time it feels like a waste of money, by the third time around has added up. Lastly the issue of the 35 and 35.5 fitted the same way raises questions about quality, or quality control at the very least, to me. If I were to purchase another 35.5 in the same style (different colour) would it fit consistently the way this shoe is fitting?”
