Paddington Bear Created by Michael Bond over fifty years ago, Paddington, the accident-prone bear from darkest Peru, is loved by children and adults alike. Well-known for his preference for marmalade sandwiches and good intentions which somehow always result in chaos, the cute bear is never seen without his blue duffel coat and red floppy hat. Paddington books have been translated into 30 languages and sold more than 30 million copies worldwide. Many remember the television series which was a highlight of children’s hour on British TV, and the much-loved fictional character is now the star of two films.
