You are absolutely right! It is ideal to have an additional tool handy as they are a consumable product. A couple methods to pro-longing the life of the installation tools, is to never use an impact driver, and clear the broaches of any debris upon removal of the studs. The debris will not allow the tool prongs to fully engage the stud and will eventually wear down.
