Be sure to get the tool lined up nice and straight..make sure little aluminum prongs are solidly in slots ..I suggest buying a 2nd tool just incase. When removing from old tires and using again on fresh set make sure notches are cleaned out ..makes much easier...definitely have Xtra tool handy

You are absolutely right! It is ideal to have an additional tool handy as they are a consumable product. A couple methods to pro-longing the life of the steel installation tools, is to never use an impact driver, and clear the broaches of any debris upon removal of the studs. The debris will not allow the tool prongs to fully engage the stud and will eventually wear down. Great photo, that looks like some fun single track!
