We loved the Stellar Theme at St. Paul in Weston. We really had fun adding some decorating elements that really made the space exciting for our kids and the lessons about Jesus were perfect for our members and the kids from the community.

We are not using Group VBS this year. We felt that there was a lack of connection between the theme and Bible lesson, which should be central. Too much attention to the animal identities and not enough substance. Using Seasonal Depression Disorder in one of the presentations was deemed inappropriate for the age group. This could have been dealt with in a different manner.

Thank you for sharing your comments. We take all feedback seriously and appreciate the time you took to respond. Thanks for all you do!
We love the quality of videos, songs and leader guides. Some aspects of program can be a little difficult to scale down for a smaller group or budget. For instance, the imagination station was awesome, but it was difficult to 'hit home' the concepts without paying for the extra supplemental products. Also, the games are really best played with a larger group, so we chose to adjust the rotation to allow for multiple crews to attend games together. We chose to substitute several items in the program for more cost effective choices, and while it takes a ton of time to find alternatives, I do appreciate the way the cirriculum is written to allow for some tweaking. We love that Stellar VBS was universal enough that we were able to share rescorces with other churches in our community as well as hold on to some things for the Stellar Christmas program. We absolutely love the strong tie in on all of the Bible concepts and the repitition of the memory verses throughout the day.

I absolutely love Group's VBS program. It's the easiest, user friendly VBS option out there. Bible buddies, decorations, crafts, are all so good for small or large churches! The only downfall to Group VBS in my opinion, are the outdated music videos. I hate that my kids don't connect to them. We switch from using Orange VBS and Group depending on the theme & content. If Group would step up their game on video & music video content- I'd use them every single year.

We have used groups VBS materials for years. The stellar VBS was stellar. We had an energetic and exciting group of kids. The format is always easy for us to use and adapt.

Great approach with tying in themes & scriptures & Bible stories & music & snacks & games so that children get a cohesive message that is reiterated throughout the evening in a way that should ensure they catch the truth without feeling bored by repetition or like they're at school. VBS Pro is a great tool and the kit (+ digital) gives you all you need to make VBS your own.

The theme, music and decor items were great. My only suggestion is to improve the digital resources. They are not simple to use compared to other publishers.

We really enjoyed the theme. Highlights were definitely the science videos. We are blessed with physicists, food scientists, team-builders, choreographers and expert storytellers in our university town that took this theme and ran with it. That said, a lot of the "kit" info was replaced by us. We found lyrics videos online that better fit the theme and made our own choreography, physics experiments with cool equipment we were able to use, supplied a full dinner on our limited budget that included detailed food items that went along with the theme and changed the stories a tad to fit our storytellers. We definitely think Group is the best produced VBS around, we loved the crews, the theme was a good one and easy to decorate, and we liked that it was scripturally accurate, not politically motivated, and not too evangelistic heavy (easily changed by simply skipping Day 4). Group is easy to adapt to our specific congregation. If I could change anything, it would be the music. Group's VBS music used to be the best out there, but last year I spent hours looking for replacements. I know that we are not yet ready to review 2024's program, but the heavy-handedness of the NLT might lead us elsewhere. Please don't go the way of Lifeway. Memorizing scripture is so important, but VBS leaders can't MAKE an established church change translations. Please give us options...especially if you're memorizing John 3:16.
