“Content was good. Characters were cute. Some of the items were not affordable buying for a large church. Social Media kit added value but should be in the kit for the cost of it. In the large poster pack with “Photo Op” cutouts, white posters filled with clip art were horrible and a waste of money.”

The kids really enjoyed Friday night closing with the streamers. It is so fun when you can end things with a huge celebration of God's Love!!”

“Please allow me to start out by saying this in my 34 year of leading vbs. We stated with 60 kids and pre-COVID grew to 470 in a church that has an average Sunday attendance of 1,100 adults. We average between 250- 350 kids each year. We switched to Group in 2013 “Athens” and loved it. Scuba was not your best work. The theme was good. The daily Bible points are becoming too redundant from day to day. Several years ago you dealt with topics that were more serous and real to a kids life. Those honestly work better.You do better with one cohesive Bible story arc- like last years Jesus for all 5 days, instead of jumping all around the bibles. Moving away from the kid Vid cinema video made sense but the concept of sticky scripture especially the videos were way too childish for our 9-12 year olds. Removing watch for God was honestly a miss. The gizmos for imagination Station were way too expensive. Selling them as a group was good for you and way too expensive for me. The same could be said annually for you Bible buddies figures. Great really cool but unaffordable for a VBS of our size. Please fix the drama skits. We have never used them they need to be real drama built a round the real point you are addressing. Groups strategy of crews combining 1st-5th graders in small groups and moving together during the day really limits you. The design of your VBS of less that 100 kids does not help. You need to make this scalable. Finally we were totally excited about Egypt in 2025 until we found out it was an evening “family centric” VBS. We will not be using True North. We are actually going to go back and use wilderness escape from 2014. Please understand I am not trying to bash you nor am I frustrated. You asked for honest feedback so I’m honestly sharing with you what I see. We have not left Group Publishing yet, but we are shopping around. It feels like you guys have lost your edge and have become very focused on what you are and not what you could become. it would be good to consider other parts of the United States besides Colorado. My kids deal with real problems on a real level. We have a large percentage of kids with ADHD, we have a large percentage of kids whose families deal with divorce. We are a highly multicultural church. I have kids that live in suburban Paradise, and kids that live were gunfire is a regular thing around their house. I have kids whose families are intact and whose moms and dads are on crack cocaine or away at “school” in an orange jumpsuit. My heart for you is that you do not go the way of Gospel Light, Who was the premier VBS in America for so many years. They got stale and complacent and they are now gone. I chose group back in 2013 because of its creativity and innovation and I want nothing more than to see that. Continue for you all! Thank you for all you do. You are an amazing company. I have been with Group Publishing since the 1980s when it was focused solely on teen group . You have been so helpful and I appreciate you.”

“I was quite frustrated by the quality of the VBS kit this year. We purchased the very expensive imagination station kits only to find out that there were hundreds of dollars more of different supplies that needed to be purchased separately. I did not feel like we were informed about that before purchasing, all of these things! The music was very subpar. But worst of all, when I opened up the Bible lesson book to begin preparing, I was shocked and appalled to find out that on the first day we started by having students pretend to worship Baal as some sort of activity. I have no idea who reviewed this or how this was approved, but I ended up having to completely throw that book out and just make the lessons from scratch because although most of them did not contain this kind of blasphemy, they were not engaging.”

“The music over the years is stil not grabbing enough to keep teir attention! This years theme was fun! However we still added alot toit and made it our own. Sticky scriptures was a great addition and the kids really loved it. I am concnerned for next years, and prayig it will be great. APpreciate all the resources!”
