“I'm very disappointed. It was much, much smaller than I expected. I'm 87 and of course my fingers are crippled by 69 years of working with them repairing wooden, metal and plastic items. This year I finished models of HMS Bounty, Cutty Sark, HMS Victory and 1/400 Titanic with a 98%perfectiion. I'm struggling with the Liberty Ship but am a stubborn old bugger. I picked it because as a teenager I sailed as oiler then messman in 1954-1955 on two Canadian WW11 Kaiser's oil tankers of the same build. They used to break in half just in front of the bridge because they were all welded not riveted. They were none as "Kaiser's Coffins" by the crews. Not wrong! When I sailed on them only the pain held them together. This is very true as I found out in drydock in Philadelphia. Stuart Burns”
