The board doesn't stay completely flat when opened but a. this is not an issue if you're using felt underneath, b. this is very subtle so it's generally not an issue unless you are a perfectionist (but for this price don't nag) and c. I do believe that with time as it gets more and more used it will flatten.
The pieces are wooden and light, as shown in the pictures. There's dice included too, plus instructions for the games.
Overall I can't recommend this set enough, it is truly great.”
