“I bought this for my five years old daughter as a gift coz she is learning to play chess at her school club. The quality is not as good as I expected such as there is a chip damage on the board and also there is missing corner on of of the castle. Also there is not anything to make the box secure who it is been closed. I wish I could return it but I have already opened up. Kind of disappointed and definitely not worth the money. Cant believe that they have made chess for more than 100 years.”
“The chess set was packaged very nicely including a note detailing the person who put it together! On my set there are a two discoloured white squares which basically brown and the two sides of the board and properly square to each other. The elastic used to hold the pieces in place when not in use is quite fiddly when youre putting the final few away. The materials feel very cheap and flimsy and I wouldnt rate its chances if dropped from more than a foot or two.Other than that its a perfectly useable chess board.”
“I was looking for a travelling set to teach someone to play and stumbled across Jaques if London. It is a beautiful folding set and I like being able to store the pieces without them rolling around. The pieces are lighter than my set at home, but just right for travelling. The presentation, communication and support of the seller reassured me, if I were to have any problems, I know I could contact them.”
“The set is very well presented and comes nicely wrapped. Unfortunately its made of very light weight wood and does not feel substantial at all. Not great to play chess with. The board folds in half but the squares do not line up perfectly which makes it feel a bit cheap. The service was excellent and my refund was processed promptly.”
