“This is an excellent product to finish antique frames, or in my case, two giltwood pelmets over 200 years old. Unlike gold paint, this cream has a finish similar to that of water gilding, which is similar to gold leaf. The cream is thick and can be diluted with white spirit. Excellent for covering parts where the old gesso (plaster) from the frame has fallen off over the years. Worth its weight in gold, as far as time saving is concerned.”
