KickAss 12V Super Thin 300W Portable Solar Panel With PWM controller Reviews

4.5 Rating 95 Reviews
Bought these to replace a 300w solar blanket from another seller. The blanket couldn't be left in the rain and the material wasn't nearly as durable as it should be. I first tested them by leaving them out in the garden powering my battery box with a fridge, some lights and a charger and they kept everything charged over a week worth heaps of rain. Then took them camping for four nights as my only charge source and they worked really well. Well constructed, and easy to move. A bit heaver than I was expecting but they feel sturdy enough. Highly recommend.

Works well and actually achieves its rated 300W of power.... but I bet it was never tested in WA gravel!!! The magnets to hold the panel closed are great, except they are place on the bottom rail and not slightly up the frame. Gravel in WA is slightly magnetic and heaps of small gravel gets stuck to the super strong magnets, stops the panles holding closed..... if only they placed the magnets on the side rails about 2cm up, would have avoided the problem (a task I now need to do).

I recently purchased the 300w slim line kickass solar panels. After a lot of consideration into either spending the money on quality, or just buying some cheap solar blanket, i bit the bullet and bought quality. After spending the back end of the week and weekend camping with the family I am extremely impressed. I thought my batteries were on the way out but turns out, they just needed better charging through the day. The weather conditions were overcast the whole time yet still the batteries filled my batteries in next to no time. On top of this, the ease of portability and light weight meant that I (or the Mrs) could move them with ease. So happy with my purchase.

Not impressed that one of the support legs fell off a panel the first time set up. Rivets were not attached properly so had to be drilled out and redone by me.

The panels are well made. I would have preferred that the frames be plain silver, like the original 100 watt kickass panel I bought in 2017, but maybe the powder coating gives some extra protection. I've put gorilla tape on the bottom edges in case of rock damage. The hinges are possibly a weak point in the design, but they are a nut and bolt fixing not pop rivet so they can be changed if damaged. All in all a good design, but no lightweight at 15 kg without any cables.

Very happy. Product does what it claims to do. Bag is good quality and size Cabling configuration is great and easy to bypass controller if you have your own. A little cumbersome to move around on your own when chasing the sun but very easy if there are two of you
