KickAss 12V 300W Super Thin Portable Solar Panel with PWM Controller Reviews

4.5 Rating 97 Reviews
The panels are well made. I would have preferred that the frames be plain silver, like the original 100 watt kickass panel I bought in 2017, but maybe the powder coating gives some extra protection. I've put gorilla tape on the bottom edges in case of rock damage. The hinges are possibly a weak point in the design, but they are a nut and bolt fixing not pop rivet so they can be changed if damaged. All in all a good design, but no lightweight at 15 kg without any cables.

Very happy. Product does what it claims to do. Bag is good quality and size Cabling configuration is great and easy to bypass controller if you have your own. A little cumbersome to move around on your own when chasing the sun but very easy if there are two of you

Great bit of kit, I also bought the 40 Amp MPPT solar controller. Together they help to keep 2 paralleled 100 Ah AGM Deep Cycle batteries at 100% in very quick time. I have a lot of Kick Ass products, none have ever let me down. I still have the older type 150 W folding solar panels, still in perfect condition, they also boost the batteries through the 40 Amp MPPT Controller, or the built in MPPT in my original Kick Ass battery box with the built on Projecta IDC 25 DC-DC charger. Power has never been a problem.

This panel worked well for a couple of years. Then all of a sudden, it stopped working. I bought it when the panels cost $1,250 each (before the tech became cheaper), and I bought three of them. The panel was used a total of 20-25 times, and was always stored inside when not used. I expected the company to back their product better, but instead I was told "its out of warranty, and given a 15% discount voucher". We buying premium products (and several of them), I expected a lot more. I am sure other premium brands would stand behind their products better.
