“Yes, I would have given it five stars, but for a few minor deficiencies.
I have a background in home appliance evaluation and considerable camping experience. And I have tried several similar alternatives, and yours is the best so far.
My suggestions for improvement are as follows:
1. Reduce the spread of the spray pattern from the shower head " Considering the available water flow rate and pressure, the spray is too wide if you have the shower handle fitted in the J-hook attachment, and fitted on the wall or vehicle. To wash your hair, one has to be very close to the shower head, or hold it in your hand, which is difficult and inconvenient.
2. Modify the design of the jet nozzle by adding heavy ribs on the side, or making it in a hexagonal shape instead of circular, as it is quite difficult to exchange heads with wet and soapy hands, (as an alternative for washing your hair).
3. Supply some cord retainer clips or O-rings so that the cord is kept snug with the hose, making it easier to handle, (in and out of the water container). I'm currently using some elastic bands as a trial, and this does help. Also, when the shower is hanging up to dry, without the battery pack attached, the power cord hangs down and water is less likely to enter the connecting plug.
4. Raise the height of the on/off switch button actuator as it is recessed and somewhat difficult to press with wet hands. It also requires quite a lot of pressure to actuate the switch, so perhaps reduce the spring pressure as well.
This is not a criticism of your product as I have found it to be the best on the market so far, and am very pleased with it.”
“I would have to say for the most part this is a great device however they need to advise there customers that if using a Jerry Can you will need a special Wide Mouth Jerry Can it dose not fit in all other Jerry Can's. Also maybe put a one way valve in the unit some where as if you lower the shower head even after turning off the head will continue to drain the water out.”
“I love my KickAss Portable Camping Shower with Lithium Battery. It has solved my shower issues when out with the family at the beach or camping. It is easy to set up and pack away and the battery life is very good, it can be charged on the go as well. All you need is a source of water and you are good to go. With anything electronic do not submerge the battery.”
“I'm using this shower with a 20 litre Jerry can of water while camping or surfing in remote locations. Works great, decent flow and good battery capacity. I like the little carry bag that comes with it to. If I really wanted, I could boil some water and put it into the jerry can or bucket of water and have a warm shower.
The only negatives is that once i've finished using it, water remains in the hose and leaks out, so I have found blowing it out with my mouth before putting it away definitely helps. I also find the shower head attachment feels a bit flimsy, so I use the higher pressure head on it which acts more like a hose than a shower.
Overall I think its a great addition to my camping setup and would recommend it.”
