“Fits perfect in the canopy, and every pie and sausage roll has turned out a treat. Have cooked lasagna and quiche and they also turned out deluxe. Will never have to buy the rock hard servo pies again!”
“The oven works surprisingly well. Just set your expectations that it will take 2-3 times longer than your oven at home. And it's a good idea to turn or rotate the food, as it's obviously not fan-forced.
The negatives: the case still gets very hot. I'd still keep your kids away from it. Some areas get much hotter than others.
The mounting brackets are junk. They really need to redesign these. You can hand it from these, if you mount it under a cabinet, but it's not very stable. I'd prefer they just used fasteners, in all four corners and it'd be nice if they left a gap at the top when used, to allow heat to dissipate.
After one trip, one of the nuts that holds the door hinge fell out. It seems they forgot the spring washer at the factory. However I'd prefer they used Loctite or a lock washer. I bought myself some and replacement washers and Kickass reimbursed me without any hassle, so that's a positive story at least.
My final complaint is the tray. All of the edges were as sharp as a knife. They did not bother to dull any edges in the factory. I cut myself several times just using and washing it. So I got a file and spent half an hour dulling the edges myself.
A little disappointed at the quality control at the factory overall. This is what I expect from Adventure Kings, not Kickass.
But, the oven is well worth having to cook pizzas, pies, roasts, etc when camping, if you don't want to stuff around with the dutch oven.”
