“The quality of Trailer Vision components stand out from the crowd and this item is no exception. I have not installed this yet so can't comment on the spring idea other than to say I think it would have to help with unplugging as it is the wriggling of tight plugs when unplugging that tends to squash the pins causing failure. It is hard to see in the product description but basically it is simply a small coil spring over each pin to help push the plug away from the socket when unplugging.”
